As a nonprofit organization, Whale Trust Maui deeply values the trust that our partners, colleagues and supporters have placed in us. Founders

Whale Trust Maui was founded in 2001 by three individuals with over 60 years of collective experience in whale research and marine education worldwide.

Board of Directors

Composed of leaders from the business, scientific research, marine education and conservation communities, the Whale Trust Maui board of directors exercises overall responsibility for the policies, programs and direction of Whale Trust Maui and provides advice and counsel on a broad range of program and operational matters. All members have a strong and demonstrated commitment to marine research, education, and conservation. Board members observe and annually sign Whale Trust Maui’s conflict of interest policy.

Advisory Council
The Advisory Council of Whale Trust Maui serves as an advisory group to the Whale Trust Maui Board and staff members. The Advisory Council is composed of distinguished scientific, business, philanthropic leaders, and wildlife photographers, from across the country.
