Ravi Bugga worked for 25 years at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank in Washington DC. IFC provides financing to companies in developing countries to help them grow and improve people’s lives. He was Global Head of Transport at the time of his retirement in 2014, financing ports, airports, railways, shipping, toll roads and airlines. He previously worked in IFC’s East Asia and Pacific Department on manufacturing projects in the construction, automotive, electronics and other sectors in China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand. Mr. Bugga worked for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus Indiana for ten years before joining IFC in 1989. He was Director of International Affiliates overseeing joint venture and licensee companies in India, Indonesia and Korea. Mr. Bugga holds an MBA from Stanford University. He currently resides on the Hawaiian island of Maui with his wife Mariko and is a 6th grade math and English tutor at Lahaina Intermediate School.
