Welcome to Whale Trust
Whale Trust supporters gathered in late March on a Trilogy sunset whale watch, to celebrate, connect, and plan for a Whale Quest-type event in 2011 and future years. Flip Nicklin, Phylecia Platte and Captain Patti Wey of Trilogy graciously hosted and sponsored the trip.

Bridging Marine Research with Marine Education & Conservation
Whale Trust was formed in 2001 to support field research on whales and their marine environment. Its founders are passionate scientists and explorers who believe that science-the quest for answers to the most intriguing questions about our natural world--lies at the heart of environmental education and conservation.
But Whale Trust seeks to do more than fund groundbreaking field research on our earth's largest marine mammals. Results from Whale Trust's field research are the basis for a broader program of outreach and education that involve the public, educators and a new generation of researchers whom Whale Trust hopes to inspire.
The Future of Whale Trust Public Events
Are you missing Whale Quest? As many of you know, Whale Quest was very unfortunately unable to go forward in 2010. We have so appreciated your support of Whale Trust, and prior Whale Quest events, and we have heard from many of you, regarding your interest and desire to support a community based program for Maui, in 2011.
We are also interested in staying in touch with the community and sharing the amazing projects and research that are being worked on. Read more...
No living animals have captured our imaginations as have the great
whales . . . They fire our imaginations and stab at our emotions. They
inspire our art, literature, and music. And so they should. The indescribable
blend of grace, power, and beauty of a whale as it glides underwater, leaps
towards the sky, or simply lifts its flukes and slides into the sea
symbolizes a vanishing poetry of the wild.
